Patrick A. Nee FRCS, FRCP, FRCEM, FFICM
Consultant in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine at Whiston Hospital, Merseyside (1994-2024). Qualified from Liverpool University and held a number of posts in UK hospitals in several branches of medicine including general surgery, anaesthetics, orthopaedic and hand surgery, critical care and emergency medicine. Appointed to his Consultant post in 1994. The first Visiting Professor of Emergency Medicine at Liverpool John Moores University, appointed in 2010.
Professor Nee has specialist interest in the pathophysiology of injury and the resuscitation and immediate critical care of critically ill and injured adults and children. He is an accredited instructor in advanced trauma life support, advanced life support and advanced paediatric life support. He has published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals. He has authored one text book and four chapters and has sat on Department of Health and NICE Committees developing national standards for emergency and critical care medicine, including the reconfiguration of trauma services in the UK.
